Uneven Despite Good Moments
7 February 2018 | by dougdoepkeSee all my reviews

Nifty opening with its hide and seek among the public library stacks. Whatever's in the envelope, the stranger really wants it, maybe even kill for it. Somebody better tell Pam now that she's got the book with the envelope inside. It's a more involved plot than usual, maybe too much for the short time frame. Plus the old guy playing Potter -who's oddly uncredited- really chews up the scenery. Still, there's expert Jeanette Nolan as the intriguing Mrs. Potter. Too bad she doesn't have more scenes since she really projects mystery. Anyway, there's always the charming Pam and Jerry to smooth over rough spots. Was there ever a more delightful TV pairing.
