Quotes

[first lines]
Guard: Be an interesting fracas if Clay Corey tries to jump this train.
Guard: It'll be more interesting for him than for us. We got more guns than Fort Wichita.
Guard: Well, me, I hope he tries it. He's had easy pickin' so far with only one guard on each train.
Guard: Say, you reckon they're putting guards on all the trains?
Guard: Till Corey gets nabbed, they are.

A church lady?
9 November 2018 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

This episode find Bart Maverick stranded in the great metropolis of Devil's Flat broke and trying to get to Denver to hook up with cousin Beau. Jack Kelly does learn that there's a big gold shipment going out, but sheriff Peter Breck is not impressed.

But what impresses him more is running into Merry Anders once a notorious blackjack dealer in San Francisco and now a church lady working for her preacher uncle Frank Ferguson. It's his gold they're carrying, money for him to build a new religious community.

Not quite believing Merry Anders is a church lady, but needing to get to Denver Jack Kelly agrees to be a guard on the treasure. There's reason to be scared as there is a notorious outlaw in the vicinity who never misses a gold shipment.

This one has its amusing moments especially involving outlaw henchmen Richard Reeves and Patrick Woodward, not a couple of Ph'Ds to be sure.
