When in Rome do as the Romans do
9 February 2011 | by sol-kaySee all my reviews

***SPOILERS*** Doing a photo spared on the Roman elections Mike Kovac, Charles Bronson, on his way back to the states spots big time socialite and Audry Hepburn look-alike Sharon Rogers, Audrey Dalton, and her entourage at the Rome Airport! Right away Mike decides to go to the big garden party that Sharon's rich Uncle Johathan Rogers, King Calder,is throwing so he can, besides take pictures, get a chance to talk to Sharon. As we soon find out Sharon Rogers is not Sharon Rogers in Mike's mind. She's Betty Donald a woman that he met five years ago on a Trans-Atlantic cruse whom he became romantically involved with! It was when things were going great for Mike that she stood him up at the London Savoy Hotel leaving him out in the cold and with a broken heart!

As things soon develop Sharon together with her Uncle Johantan and sister Mona, Elaine Edwards, are a bunch of scam artists who are out to rip off Roman jeweler Bartolo, Alberto Morin, of $250,000.00 for a rare yellow pearl necklace he's eager to sell them. After taking a photo of Uncle Jonathan Kovac and his camera are shoved, by accident of course, into a swimming pool at the garden party by Uncle Jonathan's male secretary Barnes, Bert Remsen. That's after Mike refused to give the film to a very concerned Johanatan Rogers!

Those two jerks, Uncle Johanatan & Berns, had no idea that Mike's camera and the film in it was waterproof! After developing the photo of Uncle Johathan and having it studied by the FBI and Milwaukee WI. Police Department Mike finds out that Uncle Johanatan is a con-artist as well as ex-con who was busted back in Milwaukee four years ago for fraud. Forgetting about his old flame, who stood him up, Sharon Rogers Mike is now determined not to have Uncle Jonathan & Co. rip off the unsuspecting Bertelo of his $250,000! That for a yellow pearl necklace that he in fact sold Uncle Johnatan for $60,000.00 and is now about to buy it back from him at almost four time the price that Uncle Johnatan bought it off him for!

***SPOILERS*** Big showdown at the Rome Airport with Mike getting there in the nick of time before Uncle Johanathan & Co. took off with the $250,0000.00 in cash that Bartolo was about to deliver to him for a pearl necklace that he already sold him! Mike gets his revenge for being thrown into a swimming pool, with all his clothes on, by chasing down and tackling Barnes who tried to make his getaway before the Rome police could put the cuffs on him! As for Mike's lost love Sharon she tells a stunned Mike, as she's lead away by the police, it's not that she thought that Mike wasn't good or high class enough for her by leaving him out in the cold. It was that he was far to good,in him being honest, for him to put up with her in Sharon being the big phony that she is.
