Buck Walsh has pulled together four outlaws plus himself to pull off a large stagecoach robbery at Laramie. One of the men, Glen Folsom, an alcoholic stops at Laramie for a drink and is arrested by Troop after shooting up the Bluebonnet Saloon. When jailed, Folsom mentions Walsh will be coming for him making Troop suspicious. Walsh's man tries hiring a local lawyer to bail Folsom out but Troop refuses to grant bail. Folsom sobers up but is hurting due to a lack of alcohol. Troop provides Folsom with liquor causing Folsom to provide more details of Walsh's plans. Walsh knowing Folsom's drinking problem has him killed while in jail. Troop learns there is a large gold shipment by stage the next day and decides to set a trap on the stage for Walsh's group.
