Trivia

Marshal Dillon (James Arness) refers to wanting to avoid having the desperados "dry gulch" him. That is slang for ambush because in the American West, outlaws often killed people as they passed through a dry gulch; or because cattle rustlers drove stolen animals off the edge of such a gulch. Goofs

When Marshall Dillon comes into the Mexican Villa and shows the people a picture of the man he's chasing he takes the picture from his left pocket and puts it back in his left pocket. After being attacked, Padre saves him and he shows him the picture from his right pocket. See more »

Quotes

Emilio: [Emilio is comparing an old dog he had to Marshal Matt Dillon] You know, I have a dog once. He wouldn't give up. He tracked a cougar for a whole week. Finally, he caught him. An you know something? That cougar ate HIM.

An uninteresting story that was at times downright boring
18 October 2012 | by kfo9494See all my reviews

This is one of the episodes that is forgettable right after viewing. For some reason Marshal Matt Dillon has time to horse ride all the way to southern Texas for a retirement party for a sheriff. When the guest of honor is shot by several revenging outlaws, Matt sets out on horseback into Mexico to serve warrant on the outlaws.

The next fifty minutes of show is a boring ride in Mexico as Matt is searching for the outlaws. The only break comes when the outlaws tell a small town that Matt Dillon is killer so the town stones him until he is rescued by a local priest.

This predictable and slow moving show seemed to be a thirty minute show that for-what-ever reason was stretched into an hour without having any other sub-plot to fall back on. It does not even pick up when Matt takes on six bandits and wins. One by one Matt takes care of each outlaw until there is just one left. And the viewer knows there will be some kind of face off before the credits roll.

An uninteresting script that at times was boring.
