Trivia

Along with two previous appearances in Gunsmoke before he joined the cast as Festus Haggen, this was a chance for Ken Curtis to play a non-Festus character. Ken Curtis was a very talented actor who owned the Festus character. Ken Curtis did many other parts where he was not like the Festus character in including Attack Of The Killer Shrews where he played the villain and also produced it. A lot of his work was overshadowed by his excellent portrayal of Festus and one should check out these other performances. See more »

The Festus Show

A case of mistaken identity is a common story. What makes this episode so good is it Festus' identity involved here. The whole show is his friends trying to defend him. Again, this is what makes Gunsmoke so good, the relationships between characters. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE LAST TWO MINUTES OF THIS EPISODE!!
