A cute family tale for normal families to watch together during or after supper. Nothing really special here, except the first appearance of William Shatner as a young man of a family whose the father is played by Raymond Massey. Typical American story, the kind of scheme we all have seen a billion times in classic movies all over the decades. Daniel Petrie directed and I am not surprised, that's here the perfect scheme for him, more than a crime flick for instance. Ray Massey is very comfortable in this role of a family chief. But that's definitely not my cup of tea. I am usually rapidly tired of this kind of stuff. I comment it only because it has not been done before.
