Trivia

Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) has bought a telescope as a surprise gift for his father. In the series pilot, Frasier: The Good Son (1993), there is a sophisticated telescope on a tripod visible on the balcony of Frasier's apartment (not the brass one introduced here and not present in episodes 2, 3 or 4). Goofs

When Martin initially communicates with Irene, he is standing and his telescope is level. The next morning, Martin is viewing Irene while sitting in a chair and the telescope is angled upwards even though he is supposed to be looking at the same window in the other building. See more »

Quotes

Martin: She's not my girlfriend.
Frasier: Oh please. You two have been exchanging notes for the last three days. If you were in the sixth grade, you'd be sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

Through the Looking Glass
21 September 2019 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

Frasier buys a telescope to give his father a possible hobby. It is used to spy on people in their apartments. Martin makes a connection with a woman named Irene who has a similar telescope. What transpires is a back and forth as they get to know each other. Daphne is the voice of reason in the household. The conclusion is a bit lacking in finality. We'll see if this is addressed further in a future episode.
