Carlos' wait staff, led by Enrique, is on strike against who they consider their tyrant boss. The convent does not take sides in such disputes, but Sister Bertrille is caught by a newspaper cameraman pouring some coffee for Enrique on the line, which the public and Carlos construe as convent support for the strike. Just as Carlos accepts Sister Bertrille's apology after several attempts by her, she is caught once again by a newspaper cameraman in what looks like further support for the strikers. The Carlos/convent relationship gets even more strained when the Reverend Mother is caught on camera accepting a check from Enrique, even if it was a pre-strike two-year old promise of a donation. Things for Carlos get even worse when the kitchen starts falling apart without his wait staff; as the kitchen conditions worsen, the rest of his kitchen staff join the strikers. As an act of charity, the Reverend Mother sanctions Sisters Bertrille, Jacqueline and Sixto to help Carlos in the kitchen ... Written by Huggo
Carlos' waiters have gone on strike after he got on to them about being too slow with their service. Sister Bertrille innocently speaks to one of the picketers, but is photographed in the newspaper with a headline reading "Sister comforts striker". The convent is concerned, as it seems they no longer have neutrality. Carlos is upset with the picture and how it is affecting his business. Sister Bertrille tries to smooth things over, but only deepens the divide when another compromising photograph is taken. The strike leader Enrique (Nate Esformes) comes to the convent to present the Reverend Mother with a check, which is photographed. An enraged Carlos now wants nothing more to do with the convent. The Reverend Mother asks to speak to Carlos and Enrique in her office to talk things over. They can't work things out, but perhaps that and a number of strikes can be solved with one word.
