Storyline

The Romulan chameleon ship changes its appearance to that of Enterprise and destroys a Rigellian ship. It's becoming more and more clear they are trying to destabilize the region and captain Archer is determined to find it. T'Pol suggests creating a network of 128 ships. Since the Vulcans can't send enough ships, Archer must convince the Tellarites and Andorians to cooperate. It will be hard, especially Shran seems really upset that his partner Talas has been injured. Meanwhile Trip and Reed try to disable the ship from the inside. They are up against the Romulans controlling the ship, who do everything in their power to stop them. Written by Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)

Goofs

The Romulan Admiral Valdore tells Trip the radiation will kill him in 7 minutes. Given the very limited Romulan/Human contact to this point it is unlikely that Valdore would know how much radiation humans could tolerate.

Valdore is trying to force Trip to reconnect the warp core, so it's irrelevant whether Romulans know how much radiation humans can stand. Valdore is trying to intimidate Trip, and Trip is in pain; it's unlikely that Trip would risk dying on the off chance that Valdore is lying. See more »

Major Conflict Between Major Adversaries and Now the Romulans
30 March 2017 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

This episode brings the Romulans into the equation. They are far out in the galaxy and shouldn't have all that much invested. It is implied that the alliance between the Andorians and the Tellarites is not to their liking. On board the Enterprise, bad things are happening between the enemy cultures. Shran is there and he resents the Tellarites because he blames them for the loss of his ship and much of his crew. We are, however, made aware that a third party is at work here but these two refuse to listen to Archer because they suspect collusion. When the enemy ship is recognized, Trip and Malcolm find themselves investigating it, but there doesn't seem to be a crew. One of the Tellarites kills Shran's girlfriend after the Andorians face off against them. There's also a rather weak element with Shran and Archer fighting each other in a death challenge.
