Our heroes enter an enchanted forest terrorized by a monster known as the Kala. Meanwhile, Hissh Zul send General Nor to the forest to get more rubies to toss in the magic pool, which makes the Skull-That-Talks give omens and predictions about Conan's destiny.
When Conan and his friends are crossing a river, Otli is swept away. His companions follow the river to find the dwarf. But instead, they find a trail of Hissah Zul's warriors. They can defeat them, but afterwards fall into a trap of fur-clad natives who live in the jungle (Where are the forest people?" Hissah Zul once asks, and the talking skull informs him precisely: They're in the forest!"). The tribe just crowned a new king, and it's a familiar face...
There is a beautiful scene at the beginning where Otli and Bayu have an argument over a ruby, who found it first and who can keep it. Conan takes the jewel and throws it into the river. No wealth – no problems. Such is the philosophy of a barbarian. It's a cheap episode, our heroes are simply running through the forest a lot, but it makes the best of it. The leader of Hissah Zul's soldiers is played by Sam Jones of 'Flash Gordon' fame.
