Storyline

Kelly is found alone, shot in the head at the amusement park. Sabrina, Jill and Bosley eventually learn that Kelly was at the park with her "date," an autistic boy named Skip to whom she has been acting as a big sister. Skip was found abandoned when he was six years old, and now resides at Pacific Sanitarium, which is seen as a last resort for children like Skip. They also learn that Skip was the one who shot Kelly, he, they assuming, finding the gun which had been used to kill a small-time hood at the park earlier that day. Scared, Skip ran off after the shooting, his current whereabouts unknown. As Kelly recuperates in the hospital with what ends up being a minor wound, but one which will require hospitalization for at least a few days, Sabrina, Jill and Bosley go on a search for Skip using what scant pieces of information they have on hand, including that he may go back to places in his past before he was abandoned. What they are all unaware of is that the killers themselves are ... Written by Anonymous

Trivia

The young girl, in the red Mustang convertible, who stopped to pick up Skip and take him to the beach was wearing a Starsky and Hutch (1975) T-shirt (another ABC network TV series). Also, at the beach, the sand was conveniently "stirred up" to assist the girl in "planting" her surfboard. See more »

Goofs

Later in the show, as Jill (with Sabrina as a passenger) "screeches to a halt" at the park, the brake lights on her car do not come on. BTW, license plate: California 861 BMG. It is unclear why her car (the white Mustang Cobra II) has different plates here and there during the series run. See more »

Quotes

Korbin: Too bad about Miss Kelly Garrett. She sounds like an angel.

Same as Mod Squad "Cricket" episode
14 January 2015 | by crystalann-212-858354See all my reviews

This episode is practically identical to a 1971 Mod Squad (season 4, episode 2) titled "Cricket."

From IMDb: Julie and a young boy named Cricket go to the park where Cricket finds a gun dropped by a man he runs into. Cricket then accidentally shoots Julie and, thinking he's killed her, runs away.

Both Julie and Kelly tell the young boy a story about a princess who needs to be awaken by her prince, bla bla... just before before being shot in the head by said boy with a gun carelessly dropped by a thugs who cross his path. Only difference is that Julie takes the boy to a park with a lake and Kelly takes the boy to an amusement park.
