Gideon Harte: Some people like to be fooled.
Jeff Spencer: Not detectives. How did you do the bullet-catching trick with Mrs. Elster?
Gideon Harte: Mister Spencer, my niece and I will always be eternally grateful to you, and of course we'll pay any fee the judge agreed to. But a magician...

Master Illusionist
3 August 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Judge Edmon Ryan hires Roger Smith to find out who stole his pistol and find his murderer if it's used on him.

It is and the police say suicide, but they can't explain why Roger Smith is there and on the case.

Rumored to be corrupt the judge wasn't exactly a lovable guy. He and wife Coleen Gray are splitting up and not amicably.

Then there's Gray's Uncle Gideon played by the man with the built in sneer Henry Daniell. Daniell is a Houdini like magician now retired but he's a master illusionist and full of tricks.

Daniell is the main reason to watch this episode. I always enjoy this man, big screen or small.
