Storyline

Struggling book publisher learns that he's dead, from a newspaper ad. He hoped he'd be in clover, not a coffin, because he's about to publish a book blowing the whistle on a Latin American dictator. But with his ace editor about to divorce him for dallying with talentless, but shapely female authors, he needs Bailey and Spencer's services. Stu's soon in a spin too: he gets caught in a revolving brunette. Written by David Stevens

Is it a joke?
30 October 2015 | by searchanddestroy-1See all my reviews

A man receives a note that indicates that he is dead. So the first thing is to find what's really going on around him to explain such a joke. Well, from the start, this story doesn't sound like a crime flick but instead a sort of comedy drama. So you can without problem miss this if anything prevents to watch it. I would tell it's a cool tale, nothing more. Some mystery, nearly no action at all, with still a little noir elements. I admit although that the In Memoriam trick are rather amusing and inventive too.

Try not to fall asleep, as I nearly did.

Directed by Dick Sale, the maker of the pilot.
