Dr. Sara Tancredi keeps giving Michael insulin shots using a regular syringe. Insulin syringes are several times thinner with short needles, which is why no diabetic prisoner in the USA goes to a prison doctor for his insulin shots 5-6 times a day. Moreover, she keeps giving him intramuscular shots of insulin instead of hypodermic. See more »
Before I had started watching Prison Break years back, I had heard multiple different things about it. I found the general consensus to be, that seasons 1 and 2 were great, but 3 and 4 were severely lacking, and made the show not worth the time. Luckily I had ignored that last part, and checked the show out for myself. My ideology when it comes to any movie or TV show, is to watch it for yourself and form your own opinion. So I did just that. This review will explain my experience with the show.
Overall, I think Prison Break is a great show. I agree with the majority that it's first 2 seasons are the highlight of the program. They feature fast paced action and storytelling, tense moments, and it's just great TV. However, I don't think that seasons 3 and 4 are as bad as they say. Season 4, was actually quite good in my opinion, and ended the series in a good way for the time. Season 3 was the weakest of the series, but was still interesting enough to me to be worth it. After recently releasing a 5th season, I was looking forward to it, but cautious at the same time. Season 5 is nothing special, but it's not horrible either. It doesn't do anything like taint the legacy of the series, but it doesn't add much either. I hope they don't plan to continue any further, as I can't imagine what more story there is to tell.
In all, Prison Break is a great drama that I definitely recommend if you're into character driven shows like Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, etc. It features good acting from the cast, and suspenseful moments throughout. The way they use the commercial breaks/cuts as a suspense draw is actually pretty clever, and adds to the show. Wentworth Miller is an interesting lead as Michael Scofield, and you find yourself really wanting to get inside his head. Overall, it is good fun in the Prison subgenre.
My Rating: 9.0/10
