Trivia

With the aim of targeting the larger and more profitable English-speaking audiences, the voices for The 3 Wise Men were originally recorded in English - twice, in fact, after a change in direction led to a major rewrite of the script - and only after animation was it dubbed into Spanish for the theatrical release in Spain. For the Disney/Walmart release in the USA, however, much of the film was revoiced in California with more American accents and some better-known actors. See more »

Quotes

Sara: [upon stumbling the skeletons in a cave] Slaves. Many years ago, a group of slaves managed to escape from a mine like this one and took refuge in the only village that was brave enough to rebel against the tyrant - my village. Herod wanted to make an example out of us. I saw it all from my hiding place. He murdered everyone in the village. He murdered my parents. One soldier refused to obey his orders, but Herod killed him too. Herod had no mercy on him, his best general.

Alternate Versions

The original version of The 3 Wise Men was in English and recorded at Telson studios in Madrid, Spain, under voice director Stephen Hughes, who also adapted the Spanish script into English and played the part of Belial. After animation it was dubbed into Spanish. This original English soundtrack was included in the limited 2004 video release in Spain. See more »

Better Known as "The 3 Wise Men"
26 December 2005 | by Hollywood_YodaSee all my reviews

This is a little known Animated Christmas film, released through the Disney company and Wal-Mart in 2005. Originally, the film was released in Spain in 2003. For the English voice over cast, which included such actors as Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez for very different roles. Sheen voiced one of the three Kings, while Estevez, doing very well, voiced an evil magician like guy, who was in the realm of King Herod as a vizier.

This film is very well animated, and tells the story of Jesus' birth at Nazareth, in which the three Kings come bearing the three gifts; gold, myrrh, and frankincense. King Herod on the other hand, wants the new born dead. Everyone should watch this movie if they like the story of the Three Kings. But, don't take my word for it. Experience this film for yourself. You are sure to enjoy. It definitely deserved a 9/10 rating.
