Storyline

Midwest preacher's son 'Butch' Parker gets a pardon after a well-deserved year in jail on promise never again to commit crimes in Wyoming. He befriends naive ranch hand Harry, would be-crime king the Sundance Kid. In relative Mike Cassidy's gang, they rob targets defended by the ruthless Pinkerton Agency men. The gang becomes the Wild Bunch after Mike is killed and Butch takes his place, by now reputed Robin Hoods as the railroad is so unpopular. Having faked their death, they retire to a pueblo in Mexico with shared girl-friend, photographer Etta Place. Sergeant Sanchez wants the bounty on their heads, or a larger share of their loot. Goofs

Before a shootout, Butch reminds Sundance that their Colt revolvers are each loaded with six rounds. Although such pistols could indeed hold six cartridges, common practice at the time was to load only five, thereby keeping the hammer down on an empty chamber. This was a safety measure intended to prevent the gun from firing if it was dropped on the the hammer with six rounds loaded. See more »

Cool and calm... maybe too calm
25 January 2008 | by unapalomablancaSee all my reviews

I don't know why, but there is something in this movie that had me waiting and waiting for reruns. I think it's Roger's charm and bubbly acting that attracted me to this movie. However, the movie seemed a little calm and cool-- maybe too calm for a Western, and sometimes the cowboy twang isn't captured and may had viewers raise eyebrows. The thing I liked about this movie is that the cast did not only fit their parts individually, but they actually fit each other-- sort of an all-cast chemistry. This makes the cast memorable. I felt that the movie lacked some details, but the cast definitely stood up to the challenge of a modern-day Western. Too bad there are no more reruns in HBO! :-(

This could've-- I mean should have been nominated for Art Direction and Cinematography!
