Storyline

FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully travel to the town of Red Falls, in the Rocky Mountains, to investigate a series of murders committed by a man supposedly raised from the dead by two teenage sisters that the superstitious townsfolk suspect of witchcraft. Mulder believes that the girls are innocent and hopes to find them before the angry locals lynch them. However, the town turns out to be infested by rage zombies and Mulder and Scully's investigation into this zombie outbreak only leads to further mysteries involving an alien artifact, Krycek, a doomsday cult from Tunguska, Siberia and subsequently an alien spacecraft buried beneath the surface of the Earth, where the two agents must stop the "black oil" alien virus from taking control of the planet. This survival horror game consists of three parts that are presented like three connected mythology arc episodes of the show. The first part or episode is set in the town of Red Falls. Trivia

Some of the fake movie posters in Red Fall's VHS store called the Wetwired Video have the names of several X-Files episodes on them as fake movie titles. These include Quagmire (the yellow poster featuring the aquatic dinosaur, Big Blue, from the episode), Field Trip (just left of the store's entrance) Amor Fati (red poster) and The Host (black and yellow poster next to the Amor Fati poster). One of the posters that's not based on an episode is a white poster with a couple of toppled cows for a fake movie titled Cow-Tipping. See more »

Quotes

Dana Scully: [after curing Mulder of the zombie virus] I suppose that rules out a supernatural involvement.
Fox Mulder: Just because there's a scientific cure, doesn't rule out a supernatural cause.
Dana Scully: I should have stuck the needle in your ass.

Awesome game, full of spirit of show
5 April 2004 | by jackattack286See all my reviews

When I first heard they were making a new X-Files game, I was a little wary, thinking of the last effort (see the 8-disc set sitting on top of my computer). So when playing this game, I was very happy to see the spirit of the show fulfilled so well. The game is packed with inside jokes for X-Philes (i.e, all the street names correspond with episode titles) but the game really comes through in the humor provided by the characters to break up the tension. I thought I was going to fall off my couch laughing when Mulder and Scully provided their seperate interpretations of how the adult video section of a video store measured up to Mulder's collection. Another bright spot is the autopsies conducted by Scully. This game really puts you through the paces to create weapons based on her findings - you have to analyze the results, combine in the right proportions, then combine 3 other objects just to load the gun. In summary, I highly reccomend this game, especially to any true fans.
