Netflix Just Added A Ton Of Great Horror Movies

Netflix recently revealed which films would be coming to their library to ring in the New Year, and they’re looking like a great collection for horror fans. Hailing from 2001-2004, you can now stream Jason X, Ghost Ship, Eight Legged Freaks, Gothika, Cellular and The Butterfly Effect. Of course, none of these are stone cold classics, but they’re all worthwhile watches if you can put up with a bit of wonky early noughties CGI and occasionally very hammy acting.

My pick of these would be time travel/parallel universe caper The Butterfly Effect. Sure, Ashton Kutcher might be a bit wooden in it, but I’ve always enjoyed watching him gradually screw up his life more and more with each change he makes to the timeline. I also still find the overblown scene where he wakes up to realize he’s got no arms pretty funny, if only

Ben Affleck Could Lose His ‘Batman’ Role Due to Post-Rehab Insurance Costs, Experts Say
Ben Affleck’s future playing Batman on the big screen may be over — in part because the cost of insuring him may have gotten too steep, multiple industry insiders told TheWrap.

The actor, a recovering alcoholic who checked himself into rehab last week for the third time in the last two decades and the second time in just over a year, may have priced himself out of a pricey tentpole studio movie like Warner Bros.’ upcoming “The Batman.”

“More than likely the studio will replace him because the insurance costs are going to go through the roof,” a representative for a completion bond company told TheWrap.

‘Jett’: Giancarlo Esposito To Star In Cinemax Drama Series; Ten More Cast
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul’s Giancarlo Esposito is set for a lead role opposite star Carla Gugino in Cinemax’s straight-to-series drama Jett, from Gothika scribe Sebastian Gutierrez. Also cast as series regulars are Elena Anaya, Michael Aronov, Gaite Jansen, Chris Backus, Gil Bellows and Violet McGraw. Jodie Turner-Smith, Gentry White, Lucy Walters and Mustafa Shakir are set for recurring roles.

Esposito, who has a one-year deal on Jett, is coming off a two-season series regular turn on Better Call Saul, reprising his popular Breaking Bad character of Gustavo “Gus” Fring. That includes Season 3 and the upcoming fourth season, debuting Aug. 9, which already has been shot. I hear that while Esposito has has no deal in place beyond that, he could return to the AMC series should it get renewed for a fifth season, with the production schedule of Jett allowing for that.

Wamg Interview: Actor John Carroll Lynch – Director of Lucky

Actor John Carroll Lynch first caught the attention of moviegoers in 1996 when he played Frances McDormand’s husband in Fargo (“People don’t much use the three-cent stamp”). A native of Boulder, Colorado, Lynch spent the next decade popping up in supporting roles in a variety of films including Volcano, Face/Off, and Gothika. It was his chilling, scene-stealing turn in David Fincher’s Zodiac in 2007 that made moviegoers really take notice and when he went from being ‘that Norm Gunderson guy’ to ‘John Carroll Lynch, – dynamic character actor’. Lynch continued to impress in roles on the big screen in films like Gran Torino, Shutter Island, Jackie (where he played Lyndon Johnson), and The Founder, where he played one of the McDonald brothers. On the small screen he’s entertained audiences as John Wayne Gacy on American Horror Story and even had his own stand-alone episode of The Walking Dead.

The 1 Adorable Thing Robert Downey Jr. and His Wife Always Do on the Red Carpet

The 1 Adorable Thing Robert Downey Jr. and His Wife Always Do on the Red Carpet
Robert Downey Jr. has been one of our biggest Hollywood crushes since the '80s, and his wife, producer Susan Levin, obviously agrees. The two first met on the set of Gothika in 2003, shortly after Robert split from then-wife Deborah Falconer. Even though Susan turned down his advances twice, they eventually struck up a romance when he asked her out for a third time, and they continued dating after production wrapped. He proposed on the night before her 30th birthday, and they tied the knot in New York in August 2005. Aside from being loving parents to son Exton and daughter Avri, Robert also credits his wife for helping him get sober after a long struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. Not only have they supported each other off screen, but they have also worked together on movies like Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man 2. They even have their own production house called Team Downey.

Halle Berry Takes on The Blob Remake?

Halle Berry Takes on The Blob Remake?
The Blob remake has been in development for a very long time and updates have been few and far between. However, it looks there may have been a somewhat quiet, interesting development on the movie. If a new production listing is accurate, it looks like Oscar-winner Halle Berry has been tapped to star in the long-gestating modern retelling of The Blob.

The news was uncovered by Bloody Disgusting, who discovered that the horror production company Swengroup updated a listing on their site for The Blob. According to the listing, Halle Berry is the sole star attached to be in the movie. There wasn't a lot of context provided in the listing, but her name was there, along with Simon West (Con Air, The Expendables 2), who is apparently still attached to direct. If this turns out to be true, it would be a pretty big deal.

Halle Berry may not

Interview: John Caroll Lynch for The Founder

In The Founder, John Carroll Lynch stars as Mac McDonald – who, partnered with his brother Dick McDonald (Nick Offerman) – created the first McDonald’s restaurant in California in the 1940s. Based on a true story, the new film from director John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks), follows the trail of how traveling salesman Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), impressed by the brothers’ innovative assembly-line approach to the kitchen, maneuvered himself into a position where he was ultimately able to take control of the company, transforming himself in the process to the ‘founder’ of an economic empire.

The Founder

Appearing in over 50 films and television productions, John Carrol Lynch first sprang to prominence in 1996 with the Coen brothers’ critically acclaimed, Fargo. His films include Gothika, Things We Lost in the Fire, Zodiac, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. On television, Lynch has starred in such popular series as The Drew Carey Show
