The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror XXX Poster Parodies Stranger Things

Even though I’ve been a fan of The Simpsons for more than two decades, I must confess that I’ve somewhat lapsed on the show in the last few seasons. Sure, I stuck it out longer than some other folks, but I eventually had to concede that the A-material is long behind us.

Still, I’ll check out what my favorite animated family is up to from time to time, particularly whenever Halloween rolls around. As per usual, the creative team behind the series will be rolling out “Treehouse of Horrors XXX” soon enough, and believe it or not, there’s already a poster circulating for it.

Seen below is the promo piece in question, which makes it apparent that Stranger Things and The Shape of Water will be among those lampooned in this year’s prime time special. And to be clear, the “XXX” signifies this is the

Future’s Freewheeling Ep ‘Save Me’

Future’s desolate sing-croon is partially responsible for swaths of chart-topping SoundCloud rap, a generation of hitmakers prioritizing depression over bluster, moods over bars and self-exploration over braggadocio. However, a whopping 19(!) Future releases since his 2012 breakthrough, Pluto, it’s not exactly certain how and if the elder statesmen of contemporary Xanax blues fits into that landscape of face tattoos, punk-length trap songs and Instagram posturing.

The world is changing but, thus far, it hasn’t exactly mattered that a 35-year-old superstar is still being #honest instead of chasing clout. His January full-length,

‘After Porn Ends': What 9 Porn Stars Did After Their Careers Ended (Photos)
What do porn stars do when their lives in the adult film industry end? That’s the question at the heart of documentary filmmaker Bryce Wagoner’s film “After Porn Ends,” its sequel, “After Porn Ends 2,” and its new follow-up, “After Porn Ends 3.” The film looks at the tragedies and successes of people who left an industry that famously uses up young talent. Some have no regrets about their years in the industry. For others, a career in the adult industry has proven to be a conduit to certain despair. Johnnie Keyes: Johnnie wasn’t the first black adult performer, but he was the first black Porn Star. Coming from poverty he enlisted in the army and became a champion boxer. Using the GI Bill he got a drama degree and starred in Jesus Christ, Superstar. After a chance casting in Behind the Green Door, he found himself

20 Things You Didn’t Know about Asia Argento

Asia Argento is an Italian actress known for her roles in xXx (2002), Marie Antoinette (2006) and Travelling Companion (1996). In recent years, her cinematic achievements have taken a backseat to her personal life- specifically, her involvement in several sexual misconduct cases which have cast her as both victim and perpetrator. In 2018, she experienced further upset when her partner, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, was found dead. While there is no suggestion Argento played a role in his demise (his death was ruled suicide), the tragedy provided further fodder for a media whose voracious appetite for scandal had already been

'xXx' Lawsuit Against Vin Diesel Revived by Appeals Court

'xXx' Lawsuit Against Vin Diesel Revived by Appeals Court
A lawsuit against Vin Diesel over xXx: Return of Xander Cage is back in action after a California appeals court on Monday reversed a decision that ended it three years ago.

George Zakk, a producer of the original 2002 xXx film, in May 2016 sued the actor and Revolution Studios, claiming he was shut out of the sequel. Zakk worked with Diesel through his company One Race Films until 2007, and claims he's entitled to credit and payment on any sequels of films he helped create. (Diesel, One Race and The H Collective bought the rights to the xXx sequels from ...

SXSW Film Review: ‘Porno’

SXSW Film Review: ‘Porno’
One of the more amusing promotions in the history of exploitation cinema was for Jess Franco’s sexy-arty 1967 “Necronomicon.” In the U.S., it was released as “Succubus,” but the distributor claimed that title was too shocking for publication, so newspaper ads included a phone number that could be called to hear the lascivious-sounding word (and its definition). That self-imposed hurdle pales next to the one filmmakers have handed themselves with “Porno,” a comedy horror that despite its XXX moniker (and some gore) mostly plays like a retro teen mall-flick fantasy in the spirit of “The Lost Boys” or “Gremlins.”

Keola Racela’s film gets off to an amusingly self-aware start as youthful staff at an early 1990s movie house inadvertently summon up a real succubus hungry for their bodies and souls. Unfortunately, “Porno” gets more uneven as it goes on, with a somewhat slack midsection and a mix of earnestness,

The Evolution Of Revolution: Studio Bosses On Strategic Shifts, Maximizing Library & The ’13 Going On 30′ Musical
Exclusive: Under CEO Vince Totino and President/COO Scott Hemming, Revolution Studios is five years into a strategy of building through derivative sequels, spinoffs and remakes, while continuing to focus on the distribution of its extensive existing library. At the same time, Revolution has turned away from risky theatrical investments to focus on the upside of proven IP in a vastly shifting marketplace. Totino and Hemming have been with Revolution for more than a decade, taking over the reins in 2014 after a major cash infusion from Fortress Investment Group. Three years later, the studio was acquired by Content Partners in a $400M deal. I recently sat down with the execs to discuss the evolution of Revolution.

Prior to the Fortress acquisition, the storied Revolution had become a financial disappointment after a promising start. When Joe Roth — a former studio exec at Disney and Fox — founded Revolution as a mini-major film

Why Dante Lam’s ‘Rescue’ May Be a Lifeline for the Chinese Movie Industry (Exclusive)

Why Dante Lam’s ‘Rescue’ May Be a Lifeline for the Chinese Movie Industry (Exclusive)
How do you follow “Operation Mekong” and “Operation Red Sea,” two of China’s biggest hit films in recent years?

For Dante Lam, who directed those two movies, it’s not by further cranking up the body count or delivering yet more on-screen patriotism. Instead, he and producer Candy Leung are now working on one of the costliest films in Chinese history, “The Rescue,” a thriller with four massive action sequences that each could drive a movie like “Deepwater Horizon” or “xXx.” The film focuses on an emergency rescue operative and his pilot girlfriend, whose team find courage and camaraderie in adversity.

The $90 million budget is more than double the $38 million cost of “Operation Red Sea,” at a time when the Chinese industry is currently undergoing a painful slowdown. But with Lam’s last two films clocking up a combined $750 million at the Chinese box office, the project has been

Dante Lam Flies to ‘The Rescue’ With China’s Biggest Action Project (Exclusive)
Ace Hong Kong director Dante Lam has begun work on “The Rescue,” which is set to be the biggest-budget Chinese film made this year. The $90 million action-adventure picture has already claimed a coveted Chinese New Year release slot in 2020.

Lam was recently responsible for two of mainland China’s highest-grossing films: “Operation Mekong” and last year’s “Operation Red Sea,” which raked in a combined $750 million in their target home market. Both were drenched in blood and Chinese patriotism, which failed to connect with audiences overseas.

For the long-gestating “Rescue,” Lam – whose track record includes upscale Hong Kong thrillers “The Viral Factor” and “The Stool Pigeon,” as well as sports dramas “Unbeatable” and “To the Fore” – has changed direction again. “There are no guns or martial-arts things,” he told Variety. “‘The Rescue’ is focused on courage, which I show through action. This has the energy of song and dance, or

xXx 4 Gets X Japan Frontman Yoshiki to Score the Soundtrack
XXX 4 is gearing up for production and they've just locked in a key piece of the puzzle. Legendary Japanese rockstar and drummer/co-founder of the band X Japan, Yoshiki is set to score the upcoming installment of the action franchise, in addition to composing a new theme song. It's amazing that it's taken this long for Vin Diesel's Xander Cage to get his own theme song, but better late than never.

The news came to light via a press release from The H Collective, the production company behind xXx 4. The rockstar previously worked on soundtracks for movies such as Saw IV and Repo! The Genetic Opera, as well as the anime series Attack on Titan. The studio is apparently very happy to be working with Yoshiki Hayashi as they've also tapped him to compose music for another one of their projects, the animated feature Spycies. Yoshiki had this
