Excellent!!
19 April 2004 | by nadya78See all my reviews

The previous comment is the most ignorant I have ever read - not to mention that the person didn't even see it all. Not only the cinematography but everyone's acting is superb. It's a great deep study of one's loneliness and longing for love and understanding and another's utter egoism and emptiness of heart where having feelings for anyone or anything is a completely foreign concept and only personal lust and satisfaction matters. The dialogue is scarce bcs words are not necessary - instead, it is all revealed through the actors' powerful performance. Ewan McGregor is great in this and it was awesome to finally see him again in something that matches his great acting skills better than Star Wars:) So was Tilda Swinston! The movie is a great British classic in the study of the dark side of human character.
