Trivia

The original third episode (Episode 21) of "Ghost Stories" was set to air on November 5th, 2000 and was meant to be the debut episode of the Kuchisake-Onna. However the episode never aired following a series of complaints from parents with children who had palate disorders and cleft lip sent toward the broadcaster after the preview featured at the end credits of the second episode was shown. Since then, the episode featuring the Kuchisake-Onna was never released in future broadcasts, released on DVD, or dubbed in any other language. As of 2019, the only proof of the Kucisake-Onna episode being made public is the original preview featured at the end of the second episode. While the Kuchisake-Onna never received any real screen time on "Ghost Stories", she is one of the many Yokai/Ghosts featured in the end credits of each episode of the series. See more »

Quotes

Satsuki Miyanoshita: Why on earth did we decide to hole up in the old Schoolhouse? Why? WHY?
Hajime Aoyama: 'Cause the mall was closed? I don't know.
Satsuki Miyanoshita: We passed up REI, we passed up Oshman's, we passed Neiman's for Christ's sake! YOU'RE... AN... IDIOT!

One of the most hilarious shows I've seen!
13 July 2006 | by punky_cupcake90See all my reviews

Normally shows that have plots like this annoy me, where someplace is haunted and blah blah blah. But this one didn't I took the time to sit down and watch it and it was so funny it made chocolate milk come out of my nose! Though the characters are in elementary school, probably around fifth grade, there is so much adult humor in this show that I couldn't stop laughing. The dialog is well written, witty, and hysterical. The ongoing banter between Satsuki and Hajime are the best I've seen, and if there is any reason to watch the show it's for Hajime! It will make you remember the days when you and your friends went searching for buried treasure, or played games like that! Even though... I've never actually gone into a haunted school house, it would be rather like this show if I did. I recommend anyone who likes anime to grab your best buds, pop some popcorn...make sure your parents arn't home for all the sexual innuendos that you will hear, and be prepared to laugh until you have tears streaming down your cheeks.
