Storyline

Tour rep Brad (Danny Dyer) is determined to win the informal competition among the male reps to sleep with as many female clients as possible, while his friend Mikey (Des Coleman) is looking for true love. Brad gradually learns responsibility and human concern from the awful examples set by corrupt manageress Alison (Davinia Taylor) and self-serving treacherous super-stud Mario (Rik Young). Along the way we get some memorably gross-jokes and one or two moments of rather touching tenderness, as well as a convincing portrait of what people go to Ibiza for--loud, large times of music and drunken excess. Brad is convincing as a young man who learns better from experience and Des Coleman makes Mikey a three-dimensional, soulful romantic with a wicked sense of humor rather than merely good personified.

Quite funny in an odd way
7 February 2014 | by bs-1See all my reviews

This comedy, based on the book by Colin Butts, follows the adventures of a group of holiday reps from a 18-30 like club during one season in Ibiza. Very much of its time, the film stays true to the book with an abundance of sex and drugs. Although the film is carried by the likable nature of most of the characters and some humorous situations with some unusual plot twists, it ultimately ends up being a boy meets girl true love is better than free sex story. Indeed one of the criticisms is that the ending is a little rushed and thus unsatisfactory. While it does make for compelling viewing and is quite amusing, in essence it is an update version of the successful 60's carry on films but given a modern twist.
