He adds, "3 from Hell has the grit, blood and bite we'd expect from a highly anticipated sequel to the crucial Devil's Rejects. As we were with Zombie's 31, Shudder is thrilled to shock and shake our members with the return of the Fireflies."

Which is Better? #5 – House of 1000 Corpses vs. The Devil’s Rejects

  • Nerdly
Which is Better is a new column here on Nerdly where we’ll pick two related movies and discuss each of them, and then conclude which we think is the best one. It might be about sequels in comparison to the first film, or the original film and its eventual remake, we might even do it for full film franchises. It could be about TV shows or movies that have similar themes or stories. It will be a way to talk about which, in my view, is the better. This time I’ll be putting Rob Zombie’s 2003 film House of 1000 Corpses against his 2005 film, The Devil’s Rejects.

Now, I know Rob Zombie often gets a lot of crap about his films, sometimes deserved, sometimes not, but I do like these two movies and feel like they’re his best to date. 3 From Hell just recently came out, and

3 from Hell Walmart Blu-ray Gift Set Comes with Foxy's 'Disco Sucks' Shirt

  • MovieWeb
The macabre horror flick 3 from Hell is now available on Blu-ray, and some Wal-Mart stores are carrying an exclusive "limited edition gift set" version of the movie. Just last month, the gritty sequel from director Rob Zombie premiered in theaters for a special three-day run courtesy of Fathom Events. One month later, the movie is now available on home video, and better yet, the special set from Wal-Mart includes the T-shirt worn in the Foxy character's mugshot photo. As a reminder, the shirt shown in 3 from Hell boasts the simple yet humorous phrase, "Disco Sucks."

3 from Hell stars Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie reprising their roles from previous Zombie movies as Otis Driftwood and Baby Firefly. The sequel also introduces Richard Brake as another member of the family, Winslow "Foxy" Coltrane. Zombie fans have certainly come to expect plenty of violence from the horror filmmaker, though 3 from Hell might

Home Entertainment: ‘3 From Hell’ Blu-ray Review

The bloodthirsty Firefly family return to reap more carnage in Rob Zombie’s latest film, 3 From Hell. Coming almost fifteen years after their last outing in The Devil’s Rejects, and the trio’s presumed death, do they still cut it as everyone’s favourite family of maniacs?

LIonsgate

In addition to being a musician, Rob Zombie is also a talented film director well-known within the horror genre. To the masses he’s best known for his remakes of John Carpenter’s Halloween and Halloween 2, but to genre fans his biggest films are those that focus on the Firefly family – House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. The latter was released in 2005 and seemingly ended with the remaining Firefly trio, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis (Bill Moseley), and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), being killed. As they made their escape, they were showered with bullets and looked very much dead.

Pennywise, Joker and Wrinkles: 12 Best Scary Clowns in Movies and TV (Photos)

  • The Wrap
Thanks to the creepy mask Wal-Mart removed from its stores, coulrophobia — the fear of clowns — is in vogue this Halloween. What was once a symbol of silly circus fun has been turned into one of the most ubiquitous images in horror. So if you’re in the mood for a circus from hell, there’s plenty of evil clowns to choose from. Some are funny. Others are horrifying. Either way, they’re perfect for Halloween.

Pennywise, “It”: We have to start with the most famous evil clown ever. For some, Tim Curry’s portrayal of a killer clown that only kids from Maine can see is the height of creepiness. For others, Curry’s “Rocky Horror” levels of camp make Pennywise more amusing than frightening. In both instances, Tim Curry commands attention.

Capt. Spaulding, “House of 1000 Corpses”: The most memorable character in Rob Zombie‘s critically panned

Sid Haig, Intimidating Character Actor and ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ Star, Dead at 80
Sid Haig, a towering character actor with a shiver-inducing grimace, died Saturday at age 80. His wife, Susan L. Oberg, reported his death on Instagram but did not mention a cause of death, though she did write, “This came as a shock to all of us.”

Haig is best known for playing the murderous villain Captain Spaulding in the Rob Zombie–directed horror films House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and the forthcoming 3 From Hell. His intimidating appearance — he was well over six feet — and the combination of

Sid Haig Dies: ‘House Of 1000 Corpses’ Horror Icon Was 80

Sid Haig Dies: ‘House Of 1000 Corpses’ Horror Icon Was 80
Sid Haig, a veteran character actor best known for his later-in-life roles in Rob Zombie’s horror films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, died Saturday, his wife Susan Haig announced today on Haig’s Instagram page. He was 80. No cause of death was given.

“He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be,” Susan Haig wrote. “He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.” See the post below.

Haig’s credits stretch back to the early 1960s, when he eked out a career in small TV and film roles (he was King Tut’s Royal Apothecary on Batman and a bandage-wrapped mummy on an episode of The Lucy Show) then keeping busy with similar appearances through the ’70s, the ’80s and into the 2000s.

But Haig enjoyed newfound attention when Zombie cast him as evil, clown-faced Captain Spalding in the 2003 cult horror film House of 1000 Corpses, its 2005 sequel The Devil’s Rejects and a 2019 follow-up 3 From Hell. Years before the similar Twisty the Clown terrorized American Horror Story: Freak Show, Haig won Fangoria Awards, became a favorite of horror and exploitation fans and made an appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 pic Kill Bill Vol. 2.

In an Instagram post today, Zombie shared a snapshot of himself and Haig at the Edith Head Costume building at Universal Studios, taken around the turn of the century. Haig is wearing a filthy, tattered clown costume.

“We were both having a good laugh at this crummy, ill-fitting clown suit,” writes Zombie. “It took a few tries to get his look right, but we got there. Who knew that crazy clown would become an iconic horror figure? Certainly not the two guys in the picture.”
