Here Are the TV Shows and Movies That Will Be Available on HBO Max at Launch
HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s long-awaited streaming service, launches Wednesday with hundreds of titles, including beloved TV series, blockbuster film franchises and some originals created specifically for the new platform.

And while we’re willing to bet you’ve heard classics like “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory” are among the offerings that will be available at launch, we’re also pretty sure you don’t know how many other shows and movies you’ll have access to on Day 1.

And, as a bonus surprise, HBO announced all eight “Harry Potter” films as well as “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” will be available on launch day.

Well, don’t worry, because TheWrap has rounded up a list of the biggest films and TV series will be streaming on HBO Max at launch so that you can decide if it’s worth the $14.99/month price tag, which is bumped down to

Here’s Everything New Coming to HBO in May
As we wade deeper into the uncertain waters of isolated living, the list of movies and TV shows you haven’t seen already may be starting to dwindle. But fear not, quarantine content consumers — HBO is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in May, and there are lots of fresh options to keep you entertained this month.

Popular movies like “BlacKkKlansman,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Jaws” and “School of Rock” are all arriving Friday, May 1. Plus, the director’s cut of “Little Shop of Horrors,” “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “The Art of Getting By,” to name a few.

TV shows arriving throughout the month include the premiere of limited series “I Know This Much Is True” starring Mark Ruffalo, out May 10, and the season finale of HBO’s dark comedy “Run” starring Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson, out May 24.

HBO Now New Releases: May 2020

HBO Now New Releases: May 2020
May isn’t quite summer yet but it is usually time that the networks start wrapping up their newest shows and preparing for a relatively fallow summer period. Since HBO isn’t a network, it has no such business model. But May sees the winding down of some HBO blockbusters all the same.

While there are some notable new releases for HBO in May 2020, the bigger story might be the things that are ending. Westworld concludes its third season on May 3 while new series Run wraps up on May 24. Thankfully the film losses in May aren’t too bad for HBO, unless the Agent Cody Banks saga drives a lot of traffic.

The most notable TV premiere in May is I Know This Much is True, a book adaptation starring Mark Ruffalo. This is a very bleak story coming along at a bleak time in history but perhaps those two things will cancel out.

10 Reasons Why Josie And The Pussycats Is An Underrated Masterpiece

10 Reasons Why Josie And The Pussycats Is An Underrated Masterpiece
It was the spring of 2001, right before the era of pop bands was about to die out. It was the last breath of a nieve culture before 9/11 would change America forever. Then, suddenly, Josie and the Pussycats, a movie based on the Archie comic, came out and completely bashed pop culture and told audiences that they were social pawns who would do whatever the media tells them to. Naturally, audiences and critics weren't happy. Nobody enjoys being told they're gullible sheep.

One critic even commented, saying the movie "...asks the question, just how stupid are teenagers?" Nowadays, the film has enjoyed a reemergence as people now realize how bought-and-sold the media industry truly is. Josie and the Pussycats is now recognized for being too smart and too true for the time. Perhaps if it was released just a few years later, it could have been a box office hit.

‘Liza on Demand’ Season 2 Has YouTube’s Most-Watched Original Debut to Date (Exclusive)

  • Variety
YouTube claims its new windowing strategy for originals — making them available to watch free, with ads, for everyone — is delivering big audiences just as execs hoped.

Season 2 of “Liza on Demand,” the sitcom starring and co-created by popular YouTube comedian Liza Koshy, scored more views for debut episode “Naked” in its first week than any of the video platform’s original series to date. In the episode, through a series of mishaps, Koshy’s character accidentally finds herself nude in public — and she later strips bare on a city street in a bid to prove she has nothing to hide.

Across all episode 1 debuts for YouTube Original shows, “Liza on Demand” had the biggest debut ever with 25 million views in the first seven days (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), according to YouTube. “Cobra Kai” season 2, a spinoff of the “Karate Kid” movies, previously held the seven-day record with 21 million views in April 2019, followed

‘Her Smell’ Film Review: Elisabeth Moss Puts the Rock in Rock-Bottom in Redemptive Music Tale

‘Her Smell’ Film Review: Elisabeth Moss Puts the Rock in Rock-Bottom in Redemptive Music Tale
There’s a temptation to call “Her Smell” a greatest-hits compilation of the films of writer-director Alex Ross Perry. After all, it’s got the pitch-black humor of “The Color Wheel,” the narcissism of artists behaving badly from “Listen Up Philip” and the spectacle of Elisabeth Moss as a character spiraling out of control, just like “Queen of Earth.”

There’s more than a little nihilism in these films, delivered with those laughs that get caught in your throat, and Perry couldn’t be less interested in how likable or redeemable his characters might be. Something of a cult filmmaker until now, Perry calls things as he sees them, and he would appear to see them through the bleakest perspective possible.

But this is new material from the challenging auteur, one that reflects a deeper sense of maturity, displayed mainly in the idea of the possibility of redemption. Moss’ Becky Something,

Rosario Dawson Has Joined the Cast of Zombieland 2

Rosario Dawson is the latest actress to join the cast of director Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland 2! She will join the returning cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. She will also be joined by Zoey Deutch (Why Him, Set It Up, Before I Fall), Avan Jogia, and even Billy Murray and Dan Akyroyd might show up!

The first movie I remember seeing Dawson in was Josie and the Pussycats. Her career has certainly come a long way since then! She’s become a great actress, and it’s cool to see that she’s joined Zombieland 2.

There’s no information on the character that she will be playing, but we know that the zombies have evolved into different kinds of monsters. There are the Homers, a.k.a. the dumb ones, the Hawkings, a.k.a. the smart ones, and Ninjas ,a.k.a.

(Yeah, we’re still processing that one, too.) But the most shocking twist came at the very end, when Archie was about to celebrate his victory in the school election. Sheriff Minetta
