Florence has married Lester Gould, a young man of wealth. In Lester's employment is a butler, an honest man, but addicted to drink. While out carousing one evening, he picks up with a party of underworld habitants. Among them is one Amy St. Clair, a double of Flo. The butler is amazed at the striking resemblance, in fact it startles him so much that he returns home to assure himself of the two women's separate personalities. Florence and Lester quarrel. Florence, in a temper, returns home to mother. Lester follows and has a talk with the mother, who advises that he go away for a short time and give the girl a chance to come to her senses. He returns home to prepare for the trip and finds the butler drunk. The butler is discharged. Lester departs. The butler plunges further into drink and is thrown again into the company of his underworld acquaintances.
