On Violet's audition night when she gets fired, the girls are on the bar dancing to Charlie Daniels song "Devil Went Down to Georgia". When she's on her way out the door and she stops the guys from fighting, they are playing the last verse of the song in the background. Then when Lil comes and talks to her they play the same verse over again.

Three different versions of Violet's "first autograph" are shown in the movie. One with an uncrossed t, a second one with the t crossed and a third one with a crossed t with a loop. All are shown at the pizza place, and two are shown (the third and first respectively) in the car on the way to her first public performance.

However, in the next shot she is practically cut off from running to him by the same passing car and still running.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Lil lists the drinks the bar serves as "Jim, Jack, Johnny Red, Johnny Black, and Jose; all my favorite men. You can have it any way you like it, as long as it's in a shot glass." However, when Violet first shows up to ask for a job she is asked to carry a case down the stairs she carries a case of Crown Royal.

Lil is being clever in listing alcohol with men's names in them. Only the ones with men's names. Crown Royal isn't a man's name, but it's a bar and it doesn't mean she doesn't serve other types of alcohol. It's also a very busy night and it's succinct. A few minutes later, a customer orders 8 shots (4 Canadian, 4 south of the border). None of those men are Canadian, so if he ordered it, she must carry it (Crown Royal is Canadian). Actually, no self-respecting of any caliber would limit it's libations to only 5 name-brand liquors, let alone only 2 bourbons, 2 scotches and a tequila.

Plot holes

At the time Coyote Ugly was filmed and released, LeAnn Rimes had not yet turned 21. The bar is not a nightclub and there should definitely have been a problem with her entering its doors. Lil, the owner, generally seemed to be compliant with laws and would have been unlikely to have let an under aged singer up on the bar.

Revealing mistakes

When Violet sings for the first time at the bar, she looks down at the mic, and then there's a shot of the mic. The next shot is of her looking up again, but its just the same footage of her looking down, only zoomed in and played backwards.
