The classic Twain story "The Prince and the Pauper" gets a modern slant when Prince Edward of Gelfland switches places with southern California surfer Cash Canty. Both discover a new world of romance, danger, and adventure beyond their wildest dreams.

The scenes in Edward's suite were filmed on location during a particularly hot August. The Gelfland costumes were mostly wool, and very thick. Because air conditioners create unwanted noise over dialogue, they were shut off. The room temperature often climbed past one hundred five degrees Fahrenheit (forty-one degrees Celsius). See more
