Storyline

The show focuses on the Polie Family, who live in a teapot-shaped house in a geometric world (Planet Polie) populated by robot-based characters. The stories revolve around a young robot named Olie learning life lessons and going on wacky adventures (either real or imaginative) while growing up. These often include his little sister Zowie, his inventor father, his hard-working mom, his fun-loving grandfather Pappy, and his dog Spot. Although most of the main cast is composed of circular bots, other characters are featured in other shapes, such as Olie's friend Billy Bevel and his family, who are square-shaped bots from Planet Cubey. Whimsical, stupid, oddball . . . hard to say whether I like it or not
26 July 2002 | by Hancock_the_SuperbSee all my reviews

Okay, so I'm 13 years of age, and I probably shouldn't be watching such stuff. But since it's summer vacation, what else is on? I've been watching this show for three years, and I'm still mixed-up over whether this sucks or rules.

Sure, it's a little kids show - the dumb@ss dialogue and impossible perfection of the family structre, et al, indicate this. The show is a surreal, Dali-esque show, with it's living toys/appliancances, and beings of all shapes and sizes.

It's the utterly whimsical dialogue (gee whirlikers!) that makes me kinda like it. It's hardly great, obviously. But, even for older kids, it's not that bad of a waste of half an hour . . .

I guess I'll rate it a six.
