Carl Macek and his team produced an English dubbed version of the film that was an alternate cut (running 76 minutes instead of 82). The test screenings of this version weren't successful and ultimately the rights reverted back to the original studio who later released it on video with Japanese subtitles. See more »
I actually like Megazone 23 Part 2 for nostalgic reasons. It's the first mature anime I had ever seen way back in 1986 (not including Battle Of The Planets in the 70's). Since then I've seen hundreds with the best being Akira and Princess Mononok
