Sunday Clothes was another highly amusing Scrappy cartoon from Charles Mintz
9 September 2009 | by tavmSee all my reviews

Just watched this, the third Scrappy cartoon made for Charles Mintz with distribution by Columbia Pictures, on Uncle John's Crazy Town blog. In this one, the boy character is getting ready to go to Sunday school with his dog. On the way, he encounters bullies not to mention a stereotypical Italian in a manhole. Plenty of amusing gags as well as some pretty good singing by kids' voices (or maybe some adult voice actors imitating kids). I found this pretty funny all the way and marveled at the mostly fluid animation provided by Art Davis, Sid Marcus, and director Dick Huemer. If you're an animation buff who's curious about many of these rarities from the '30s, I recommend you go to the site I just mentioned at the beginning and watch Sunday Clothes.
