Very characteristic of Buzzy the Funny Crow cartoons
7 April 2008 | by petersgrgmSee all my reviews

As with most of the post-1950 Famous Studios Noveltoons (sold to Harvey Films), the story format was overstandardized. Cartoons featuring Buzzy the Funny Crow followed the same basic theme, Katnip being affected by this malady or that malady, and wanting to eat crow meat to cure whatever ailed him (because a book recommended that). So, Katnip wants to quit smoking (Appropriate title) and a book suggests eating a fresh caught crow, so goes after Buzzy. The crow pleads with Katnip(SAME feline going after Herman in other cartoons) to try something else; the cat tries different means but they do not work, so Katnip insists on doing what the book says, but somehow Katnip IS cured, so Buzzy escapes being eaten. So, even if this, like the other cartoons put out by Famous Studios, follows formula, it is amusing.
