Sex & Nudity

  • Some condoms are seen in a toilet.
  • The main character goes to a testicular cancer support group and meets a man with breasts. He developed breasts due to his high testosterone and had to have his testicles removed. He also received hormone therapy. We see his nipples seepe through his shirt in every scene he's in. The main character refers to them as "bitch tits"
  • A photograph of a man's penis is briefly shown twice in the movie. Other pornographic images are shown, from 32:25 - 32:37. This is easily skipped over, and doesn't leave out any important plot points.
  • An incredibly brief second of moaning (porn) is played in a theater.
  • We see a few rotating frames of two characters having sex. Lasts for several seconds, breasts and buttocks are easily visible. This scene lasts around 15 seconds, and is easily skipped over. From 48:39 - 49:00.
  • We see a man's buttocks a couple of times on billboards.
  • This film has some sexual references scattered throughout, but it is not a raunchy or exploitive movie.
  • Men are shown shirtless during the fights, and not meant to be sexual.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is beaten/roughed up harshly near the end of the movie. There is blood on his face. And there are several bruises.
  • A man gets his hand burned by a chemical. We see his skin bubble and boil. He screams in pain. He then has vinegar poured on his hand and we see his skin sizzle. The man is repeatedly slapped while this is happening.
  • A man is brutally pistol whipped and punched in the face. There is blood all over the victims face, and his tooth gets knocked out. The victim then goes bizarre and mounts his attacker and screams in his face. Blood is smeared onto the attacker's face
  • There's a montage of people picking fights with random strangers. A bit disturbing.
  • There are a couple of explosions throughout the movie. The most intense out of these scenes is when several buildings explode and collapse. It is unclear if people are inside them.
  • Several men commit numerous acts of vandalism that can be quite disturbing
  • Two prolonged scenes where men are threatened by castration
  • There's an intense car crash that is seen in slow motion. A person is seen injured afterwards
  • A man visualizes a plan crash in mid air. People are seen being flung out of the the plane. Very intense.
  • Extremely butal, bloody and disturbing fist-fighting scenes throughout. Faces and fists are shown being bloodied and bruised, sometimes blood is seen splattering onto the floor from the fights. In the most graphic of these fights is when a man's disfigured and mostly blood-covered face is shown for a second or two as it's punched at several times. All of his teeth are knocked out
  • A man brutally punches himself in the face 4 to 5 times to make it look like he was beaten up by his boss. Lots of blood leaks from his nose and later onto his shirt. This scene is both brutal and disturbing.
  • A man is shot from the back while running, we later see him dead with half his head missing, brain and tissue coming out.

Profanity

  • 80 uses of "fuck", some uses of "shit", "damn", and a couple uses of "bitch-tits" (referring to a man). Occasional sexual dialogue, but nothing notably crude. 1 use of "cock", and 5 uses of "balls"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Lots of cigarette smoking. A scene of social beer drinking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This film is extremely disturbing and psychologically crazy. Men are dehumanized and start to worship the whole idea of an anti-social life that involves bare knuckle fighting, vandalism, and acts of terrorism.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man fires a gun in his mouth, blood spurts out of his cheek, blood then pours out of the exit wound. At the same time, a man nearby falls to the ground, an extremely graphic exit wound of presumably a gun is visible. While bloody, the scene is rather dark.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The psychological factor of the movie is how the main character (who is mentally disturbed) creates an alter ego that is everything he wishes he could be. The main character then shoots himself in the head in order to destroy that part of him.
