When he was invited to join the production, producer Al Clark saw an immediate link between it and his previous film, 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' (1994), despite their obvious differences. "There's something irresistible about placing people in a landscape which they feel does not want them", he mused. The wife is running away, and in the process, experiencing a deliriously exciting freedom. The husband is in pursuit, and in such pain, that he's acquired a kind of deranged numbness. He is emotionally wounded, but he has decided that revenge does not allow for compassion." See more
