A family discovers their youngest daughter has cancer. But the real struggle has yet to start.
Based loosely on the story of Melissa Weaver, who at age 10, contracted a rare form of cancer. Her father loses his job when he takes too much time away from work to care for his family during this difficult period. Enraged, both Melissa and her father decide to fight to change the law which allowed him to be fired in the first place. A primary role came in the form of the President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton, who signed the Family and Medical Leave Act thus ensuring no other family would have to go through what the Weavers did.
The family youngest daughter Missy (Anna Chlumsky) has cancer in her leg after she strain her leg from soccer from the video. This put the whole family looking after her. But her father Ed (John Ritter) is the one that mostly looking after her causing him to miss weeks of work resulting in being fired. Wrecking the family. And giving less chance of Missy survival from cancer. Will she survive? Will the family recover? Well find that out in the film.
