Joss Whedon on Agent Coulson and More in Marvel’S Agents Of Shield

Ever since we heard that the beloved Agent Coulson was going to be on ABC‘s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we’ve been alternately overjoyed and befuddled. You’ve seen The Avengers, right? And you remember what happened to Agent Coulson, played by Clark Gregg? Clark Gregg‘s Agent Coulson who was in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and had a cameo in Captain America, The First Avenger before he was in The Avengers?

So while we were all completely excited when we heard that he’ll be starring in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming to ABC in the fall, we were just a bit concerned about how they’re going to be explaining his character’s ability to appear in anything that occurs after the events of The Avengers in the Marvel shows/movies’ continuing timeline.

Hopefully it won’t be only the little bit o

'Temple Run: Oz' Takes A Trip Down The Yellow Brick Road

Imangi Studios has once again teamed up with Disney for a "Temple Run" crossover. First it was "Brave" and now it's "Oz the Great and Powerful." Apparently there's a lot of running involved, but "Temple Run: Oz" sees it all go down on the yellow brick road.

Instead of filling the shoes of an adventurer on the run from demon apes, players will take on the role of Oz as he tries to outrun a band of flying baboons (aka demon apes). Building off the updates introduced in "Temple Run 2," "Temple Run: Oz" adds new features including changing environments and the ability to fly a hot air balloon. Players are also able to explore different areas of The Land of Oz by following sign posts.

Unlike "Temple Run 2," which is free, the Oz crossover will set you back $0.99. In an attempt to make up for asking for one of your dollars,

NBA could be back on TV by Christmas

After nearly two years of bickering, NBA players and owners are back on the same side.

“We want to play basketball,” Commissioner David Stern said.

Come Christmas Day, they should be.

The sides reached a tentative agreement early Saturday to end the 149-day lockout and hope to begin the delayed season with the marquee tripleheader on Dec. 25 originally scheduled to air on ABC and Espn. Most of a season that seemed in jeopardy of being lost entirely will be salvaged if both sides approve the handshake deal.

Barring a change in scheduling, the 2011-12 season will open with the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks,

TNT and TBS announce lineup that includes Andy Richter Pyramid game show

It looks like Andy Richter will be stepping from behind the podium on Conan to another podium (I am guessing) for a new game show on TBS entitled Pyramid. The show is reportedly a modern-day take on the iconic game show that began asThe $10,000 Pyramid.

I really enjoye watching Men of A Certain Age, and highly recommend it. The new shows don't really catch my interest yet, aside from Pyramid. Check out the full lineup below and share your thoughts on what shows you are most interested in seeing.

New 'Harry Potter' Book Reveals The Behind The Scenes Magic Of All Eight Films

New 'Harry Potter' Book Reveals The Behind The Scenes Magic Of All Eight Films
The magic of "Harry Potter" is coming to an end, but at least the masterminds behind the franchise are selfless enough to share it with us.

In a follow up to the best-selling 2010 book "Harry Potter Film Wizardry," Harper Collins has announced that they'll be publishing "Harry Potter Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey" on October 25, a book that includes interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more, plus commentary from director David Yates and producer David Heyman among others.

Since "Page to Screen" will be the first book to cover the creation of all eight "Harry Potter" flicks, we have plenty of questions we'd love to see answered in the compendium's 528 glossy pages. Click on after the jump to see what we hope to find.

The Development Of Quidditch

Unless you weren't paying attention over the course of the "Potter" films, you probably noticed that Quidditch

[TV] Tonight: 4 Decades of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson

I have to confess my age in writing this particular review, because Johnny Carson was off the air by the time I was watching late night television (or rather, watching and appreciating it). For my generation, the names headlining the late night shows were and, with a little bit of controversy, remain Jay Leno and David Letterman. In my case, I had to familiarize myself with Carson through YouTube clips years after he’d retired. Tonight, the most complete compilation of episode’s from Carson’s 30-year-long career as host, starts 4 years into his career (1965) and spans up to 1990 (4 years short of his final bow) in a 15-disc set featuring some great moments and some of the best guest appearances (with a particular focus on comedians for this set, it would seem). It’s doubtful we’ll ever see a full set, just because the undertaking of committing that much

Taking Woodstock – DVD Review

I do love festival season. There is something magical about listening to great music in a muddy field for 3 days before coming home smelling of cow shit. I’ve spent many happy times at Glastonbury and I will never forget listening to Metallica play their seminal album Master Of Puppets in its entirety at Download festival 2006.

Unfortunately, I am too young to have lived through the 60s & 70s. These were the decades when music and cinema actually mattered. Names such as Hendrix, Joplin and Bowie ruled the world. Directors such as Scorsese, Coppola and Friedkin had the world at their feet. Nowadays we have to be contented with the load, brash stylings of Michael Bay and boring Leona Lewis who churns out pop garbage bad enough to commit suicide to.

Enough ranting. Yes, it is true that film and music aren’t what they used to be but all is not lost.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Taking Woodstock’ Has Plentiful Atmosphere, Little Depth

Chicago – Ang Lee’s take on the landmark music festival isn’t a film so much as a filmed idea. It aims to capture the atmosphere of the concert without ever showing the actual music. Of course, the real show was the crowd itself.

There’s one lovely shot in “Taking Woodstock” where its protagonist, high on acid, gazes at the countless hordes gathered around the distant main stage. Suddenly, the crowd starts to move like ripples in the water, as they become united by their shared vibes. The image may sound pretentious on paper, but it has a poetry and wonderment that’s largely missing from the rest of the picture.

Blu-Ray Rating: 2.5/5.0

There are few writer-director teams in film history that have tackled as many diverse genres as James Schamus and Ang Lee. Their collaborations include “The Ice Storm,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” and “Lust, Caution,” though “Taking Woodstock

Shonda Rhimes explains why Arizona got the girl

Love it or hate it, Grey’s Anatomy changed television.

That may seem an overstatement, since Grey’s isn’t in the category of the dramas usually referred to as transformational — The Sopranos, Mad Men or Six Feet Under, for example. But in terms of pop culture, the influence of the show is obvious every time someone says, “Seriously?” or refers to an essential part of the body as the “va-jay-jay.”

Sure, Grey’s often is infuriating, but that’s just proof that we have an emotional investment in the characters and their stories. And for that, we have to thank Shonda Rhimes, who was chosen as one of TV Guide’s “Players” — the people who made the decade’s best TV.

Rhimes takes her place among J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost, Fringe), Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), Dick Wolf (Law & Order, ad infinitum) and
