Trivia

In July 1999, Robert Wuhl appeared on World Championship Wrestling's Monday Nitro in the company's dying days as a guest announcer. He did not appear as himself, but was named "Arliss", and acted in character. The Arliss appearance was panned by fans and wrestling critics, especially because most people didn't know what an "Arli$$" was. See more »

Quotes

Rita Wu: [Arliss is wondering why one of his clients, a black quarterback can't get on a team] I told you the reason why. It's as clear as black and white.
Arliss Michaels: More like black and puce. I just picked up a rumor that Theo Holt is gay.
Kirby Carlisle: Gay? No way. Theo Holt doesn't sing from the mike... We've chased tail together. He's been my wingman for a dozen missions.
Arliss Michaels: Has he ever shot down any planes?

Just not funny.
8 May 2001 | by Evil_FonzieSee all my reviews

HBO is responsible for some of the most groundbreaking programming to grace the medium of television in the past decade, that is why I am amazed that they continue to broadcast this show. It is just not funny, it is almost as if Robert Wuhl took the "ruthless sports agent" idea from Jerry Maguire and decided to make it not funny or amusing in any way. This show is a waste of time.
