Trivia

The ending theme song is "Fly Me to the Moon". Approximately 56 different versions of the song were produced for the show. Some of these contain vocals, are karaoke versions, or are instrumentals. Others are short-length mixes or "TV-size" versions of previous recordings that were designed to be played at the end of the show, and a few versions of the song are not even called "Fly Me to the Moon" at all. To date, most of these recordings can be found in Original Soundtracks I, II, and III as well as the CDs "Addition," "Birthday of Rei Ayanami," "Refrain of Evangelion," "Death & Rebirth," and the 7-disc "S2 Works" collection. However, several of the TV-size versions that appear during the show's closing credits are not available on any official Evangelion CDs to date. See more »

Goofs

Several of the appearances of EVAS, the size of the robots in terms of the proportion of the stage, constantly changing. In some cases show a height of about 83 feet, when Evas are in the HQ this size is reduced to 65 feet, then appear as large as a fourteen-store building. See more »

The Most Incredible Anime Ever!!!
20 August 2004 | by dageek426See all my reviews

Hellsing has tried. Escaflowne has tried. FLCL has tried. Cowboy Bebop has gotten very close, but there can be only one. I can say, without hesitation, that Neon Genesis Evangelion is the greatest anime of all time. What starts out as a simple "Kids piloting giant robots trying to save the world" story, ends up in a dramatic, scary, philosophical nightmare where lives are sacrificed, tears are shed like blood, clones battling, and peoples deep and dark journeys to find their inner selves. I wont waste words describing the storyline, because we've all heard it 700 times. If you haven't, go to the plot description and check it out. Don't be fooled, for it is a complicated anime that many adults have failed to understand, let alone 12 year old kids like me. If you haven't seen it, i strongly recommend you go to your nearest place that sells anime, and buy it, even if you aren't a fan of anime. Don't be fooled by the first several episodes: they are funny enough, but the real power is hidden behind episodes, especially 24.

I would give this series a 10/10, but i think it deserves more than that. Buy it...you wont regret it.
