A forbidden love affair blossoms on the beautiful and sultry Caribbean island of St. Martin in this tale of two wealthy and powerful families vying against each other for power and dominance. The Philips family owns the multi-million dollar Paradise Rum Company, which basically controls everything on the island except for the posh and elegant Trade Winds Hotel, which is owned by the Sommers family. The Trade Winds has financial troubles, and as a result, the Philips are looking to make a new addition to their empire, but the Sommers beg to differ. I'm from the island of St. Maarten / St. Martin where Trade Winds was filmed, I saw this movie when I was 8 or 9 years old, I'm now 28 and still remember it like it was yesterday. I have been searching high and low for it. I even asked some of my fellow islanders who i clearly remember watching it with and they've seemed to forgotten "Trade Winds". I could never forget it, because it was a huge deal to have a mini-series filmed on our little paradise. I can remember how on the french side a portion of the residents gathered at the MJC (community center) to watch this series that we were all excited about just because it was filmed on our little rock. I can remember saying to myself that one day I'd be an actress too..(well i'm still dreaming of that day to come) and when I saw Michael Michele, i thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd seen on television... at that time. It would be really nice to see this show again, I've been looking for it for a few years now but to no avail. Is there anyway for me to get a copy of this mini-series??? or is there anyone who knows how i can?
