Fox Deal Gives Disney Princesses a Bunch of New Recruits
News of Disney acquiring 21st Century Fox has been sending shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry since reports began to surface nearly a month ago. And now it's official, which means that the Disney princesses have to make room in the castle for some brand-new princesses that are moving in from Fox. Many fans have focused more on the expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and whether or not Deadpool will retain his brutal verbal skills over at the House of Mouse, so the new princesses have flown under the radar. But the time is right to recognize the new Disney royalty recruits.

Though not a traditional princess, Alien's Ellen Ripley should be allowed in just for being a kick ass hero, a new kind of gritty princess that isn't scared to get her hands dirty or fire some blasters. She can hang out with Princess Leia and Captain Phasma when there's nothing pressing going on.

Who From Stranger Things Will Have the Best Career when the Show Ends?

Netflix has struck viewer gold with fan favorite series, Stranger Things. It’s now enjoying it’s second season as well as it’s own after show. With all the hype around the nostalgic show, it’s got us wondering, who is going to have the biggest career when all of this is over? Winona Ryder obviously had quite the career before Stranger Things ever came along (Girl Interrupted, Black Swan, Edward Scissorhands to name a few), but she has fully revived her status as a leading lady with the role as Joyce Beyers. She even has a new movie coming up (in post-production),

‘Stranger Things’ Season 3: The Duffer Brothers Promise ‘Weirder,’ More Character-Centric Stories
When it comes to “Stranger Things” Season 3, the Duffer Brothers are in a great place right now. “I love the early days of seasons, because you are filled with all of these possibilities,” Ross Duffer recently told IndieWire. “We are having a lot of fun just bouncing around cool ideas.”

The creators of Netflix’s blockbuster favorite spoke to IndieWire about the show’s future after holding a Master Class session at their alma mater Chapman University last Friday (they graduated in 2007). Below, they explain why they can’t reveal the ’80s references that we can look forward to next season and why they are excited about their young cast growing up.

An Intimate Focus Will Be Key

If there is anything that characterizes the distinction between Season 1 and 2 of “Stranger Things,” it’s that the breadth of the world is explored more. However, the Duffer Brothers hinted that a

Johnny Depp Admits It Was a 'Bad Idea' to Dress Up as Captain Jack Sparrow and Go to Disneyland

Johnny Depp Admits It Was a 'Bad Idea' to Dress Up as Captain Jack Sparrow and Go to Disneyland
Johnny Depp didn't get the response he hoped for when he dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow and posed as a statue at Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride that inspired the film franchise.

While on this week's episode of The Graham Norton Show with his Murder on the Orient Express co-stars, the 54-year-old actor revealed this it was a dream of his to reprise his Pirates role at the happiest place on Earth -- but the reality did not live up to his fantasy.

"I was very excited to stand stock still and then shout out [in Jack’s voice], ‘Oi, what you lookin’ at?’" he quipped. "I got no reaction whatsoever -- nothing! I then had to start describing the people I was shouting at so they knew I was real."

WaterTower Music is proud to announce the November 10 release of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Warner Bros. Pictures’ epic action adventure Justice League. The album features one of the industry’s most versatile and accomplished film composers, Danny Elfman, who is returning to score a DC Super Hero film for the first time since 1992’s Batman Returns.

We’ve got these iconic bits from our past and that’s part of us, that’s part of our heritage.

10 Great Directors Who Should Make Horror Movies — IndieWire Critics Survey

10 Great Directors Who Should Make Horror Movies — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best film in theaters right now?”, can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: What filmmaker would you most like to see try their hand at a horror movie?

Kristy Puchko (@KristyPuchko), Pajiba/Riot Material

I struggled with this question, because a lot of the directors I have adored have worked in horror, be it Tim Burton (“Beetlejuice,” “Edward Scissorhands”), Robert Zemeckis (“Death Becomes Her”), Edgar Wright (“Shawn of the Dead”), Frank Oz (“Little Shop of Horror”), Guillermo del Toro (“Crimson Peak”), Bong-Joon Ho (“The Host”), Jim Jarmusch (“Only Lovers Left Alive”), or Taika Waititi (“What We Do In the Shadows”). Part of what I love about the genre is the way is can be reshaped with vision, color,

Bill Pullman is On a Mission of Revenge in The Trailer For The Western The Ballad Of Lefty Brown

The first trailer has been released for a fantastic looking western called The Ballad of Lefty Brown. The movie stars Bill Pullman as a cowboy who is out on a mission to avenge his friend, who was murdered. If you're a fan of westerns like I am, I think you're gonna like what you see.

10 Future A-List Actors Who Made Horror Movies

10 Future A-List Actors Who Made Horror Movies
We all have to start somewhere, right? Despite its history of cinema classics and major box office success, the horror genre is often maligned as somehow less worthy of respect than other types of films. For whatever reason, it's not as easy to get an A-list actor to headline a horror movie as it should be. But beggars can't be choosers. Plenty of Oscar-nomintaed thespians had no problem making horror flicks on the way up. Today, we're looking at 10 future A-List actors who made horror movies before they became big time celebrities.

Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger

There may be no greater example of the phenomenon we're talking about here than the fourth film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, which starred two future A-list actors and is demonstrative of the shrewd and cynical strategies of Hollywood. In 1994, relative unknowns Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger had already been in Dazed and Confused

Halloween 2017: 31 Movies to Watch on Hulu This October

  • DailyDead
Last week, I gave you guys a few lists from Amazon and Netflix in regards to what they have to offer via their streaming services this fall. As a newbie to Hulu, I only discovered over the weekend that they, too, beyond just being an amazing resource for television programming, offer up a killer selection of genre movies that are free to stream with a standard Hulu membership.

Here’s a look at an assortment of 31 films from Hulu that I think would be great movies to stream this October. I tried to give you guys a wide variety, too, hitting various sub-genres, so hopefully there’s a little bit of something for everyone in this list.

The Faculty

As far as high school horror films go, The Faculty has remained one of my very favorites for years now. Essentially, it’s Robert Rodriguez riffing on The X-Files, and who can resist that?

The unmade sequel(s) to Beetlejuice

Simon Brew Oct 6, 2017

Beetlejuice remains a one-off classic - but not for the want of trying...

When it was announced in the late 1980s that the-then thirtysomething director Tim Burton had landed the job of bringing Batman to the big screen for Warner Bros., approval was far from unanimous. Burton was a gamble, although as 1989’s Batman would prove, a well-chosen bet.

Yet he wasn’t a gamble without some pedigree. Just two movies into his career, he was already proving to be one of Hollywood’s most interesting mainstream directors. And the studio had, after all, seen early cuts of 1988’s Beetlejuice, Burton’s second film.

Buy Beetlejuice on DVD and Blu-ray in posh packaging, here. And the digital version is here. Clicking on these links supports the site, and we hugely appreciate it.

The fantasy comedy, starring Michael Keaton in the title role, actually came to Burton while
