Storyline

Roger Mortis and Doug Bigelow are cops that are chasing crooks that are dead serious about crime. Or should I say they are chasing dead crooks perpetrating serious crimes? Seems some nutcase has learned how to bring back the dead and is sending them on crime sprees. Now these indestructable goons are in the way of officers Mortis and Bigelow. To even things up, when Mortis is killed (in the line of duty, of course) he gets a jump start from the Resurrection machine and takes the fight to the zombie bad guys. Trivia

The lead character is Roger Mortis. Mortis is the Latin word for "death". Roger Mortis also sounds quite a bit like rigor mortis. See more »

Goofs

Roger copies down the number found inside the lampshade at Loudermilk's crypt. This number is 2639362867. He later deduces that this number was used as code to spell out "BODYDOC", Dr. McNab's license plate. While the first 7 numbers could spell that out, what about the last 3 numbers at the end? All 10 together could spell out "BodyDoctor", leading to the deduction of the plate number. See more »

Det. Roger Mortis: Lady, I'm fucking dead.

Alternate Versions

TV versions have additional scenes that were cut out of the original release. Included: The Mausoleom part is longer (and includes an appearance by Dick Miller), Mortis having a nightmare about his Death Day Party (with Piscopo in Zomibiefied makeup). These scenes and more are included on the 2004 DVD release (in rough but watchable quality). See more »

It has its perks...
4 February 2004 | by SleepingGiant99See all my reviews

I won't say this is the best movie I've ever seen but I'll tell you it has a special place in my DVD collection. Honestly I like the story...it's simple and they do a good job of keeping it that way. While they try to add some mystery to it it's much better as an action movie and something of a horror movie. Some of the scenes in it are cool and rather inventive in my opinion. While it's nothing special or even really good it's enjoyable and if you like those almost cult/action/horror movies it's a good one to watch. I'll give it a 5 out of 10.
