Storyline

After the encounter with the shark at Sea World, Sean Brody has returned to Amity. Here he has assumed his father's role, working for the police department, and is engaged to a young woman named Tiffany. His mother, Ellen, still lives in Amity as well. Mike Brody is now married to Carla and is researching conch snails with his partner, Jake, in the Bahamas. One night, while repairing a buoy in Amity harbor from the police boat, Sean is ambushed from below and killed by the Brodys' old enemy, a Great White shark. After the funeral, Ellen wants Mike to stay off the water, but he refuses, and takes Ellen back to the Caribbean with him and his wife and daughter, Thea. Ellen starts trying to enjoy life again, meeting charming pilot Hoagie after having been a widow for some time. Mike and Jake encounter the Great White shark in the water, and tag and track it for research. But the shark soon starts wreaking havoc, and comes after Thea on a banana boat ride. Now, Ellen, Mike, Jake, and ... Written by Medic249a2

Goofs

It is stated repeatedly in the film, especially by Jake, that it is very rare to find a great white shark in warm water. In fact, great white sharks can be found in almost any temperature zone. What is rare is what has happened in 3 of the 4 "Jaws" movies, to have great white sharks in the cold waters of the American Northeast. See more »

Alternate Versions

Some British TV screenings have featured much un-doctored footage of the shark where you can see the machinery driving it. A six by three foot hole in the shark's stomach is clearly visible during the submersible attack and almost every shot in the following chase shows the machine protruding from under the shark. This is in large part due to the fact that the film was shot in 4:3 and matted for widescreen for theatrical exhibition, meaning that viewers were able to see the full picture, including areas that the filmmakers didn't want you to see! Utter claptrap... and that's being generous
23 May 2004 | by eddy-49See all my reviews

Please...I have heard some nonsense in my time, but the defence of such a monstrous production is well...indefensible. Spouting claptrap about Shakespeare doesn't dignify what is a ridiculous and feeble offering of a motion picture.

This movie was so bad it virtually spoofed itself. Hey I know, why not on top of the shark following them all to the Bahamas doesn't it learn to walk too, and then it could follow them if they decided to move inland.

Michael Caine is a very good actor who has a habit of appearing in bad movies. In this one was impressive as he managed to keep a straight face throughout.

So bad it's beyond redemption of any kind and richly deserves it's place at #33 in the bottom rated IMDb movies. It's amazing it did that well.

I'm glad the director has taken the time to submit his review though.
