Young girl runs away from her abusive family only to end up in a juvenile detention center for girls where she's raped and brutalized by her sadistic peers. Only one honest social worker shows interest in helping her.

When his wife and son are brutalized by thugs and a corrupt criminal justice system puts the perpetrators back on the street, a New York City factory worker turns vigilante to find some measure of bloody justice.
Linda Blair plays Carol, a young woman who must serve 18 months in prison after killing a man (by accident). The prison turns out to be brimming with decadence, corruption and sleaze, where the other female inmates are sadistic crack-selling lesbian rapists and the guards and warden are no better. Racial tensions are high as the inmates is divided into two factions, blacks and whites, who must either join together against the management or kill each other trying. A sleazy blend of sexploitation and blaxploitation make this movie a real winner.Written by

The 1986 and 1990 UK video versions were cut by 1 min 38 secs by the BBFC to remove the rape before the fight on the roof and to heavily edit fight scenes including groin kicks, face slaps and a woman's head being hit against a window. Some fight cuts were restored in the 1998 MIA video release though most of the original BBFC edits were retained. The 2006 Anchor Bay DVD had been heavily pre-edited and was missing the BBFC cuts along with some other edits. See more »
Chained Heat is an absolute classic. I can watch it over and over agin and never get sick of it. Its a pure trash classic. It centres around Carol (Linda Blair) who is an innocent thrown into a sleazy prison run by two adversaries Bachman (John Vernon) and Taylor (Stella Stevens). Its a heavily corrupt prison with two main gangs one headed by Erica (Sybil Dannning) and one by Duchess (Lousia Moritz), and with drugs, fights, lesbianism and murder thrown into the mix u know u r in for a good movie. Honestly the acting is hopeless, but who cares? you are not watching this film like an oscar voter, enjoy it
By the way does anyone notice how Linda Blair is constantly being raped in films? (Born Innocent, Chained Heat, Savage Island, Savage Streets, Red Heat, Silent Assassins)just to name a few!
