it is a different perspective about the story. and the only sin is the ignoring of the great possibilities to explore the universe of the teenagers . but the film has many virtues and this is the only important thing. few memorable scenes - few really silly -, the good job of Roy Scheider, the spirit of youth and the confrontation with an early legend. the inspired option to discover it remains to ignore the original. because not only the perspective is different but the message. no Hemingway, no Melvill. only a helicopter in a delicate situation, a more impressive shark and the screams. each as brick of a decent movie who not desires to impress only to entertain.
