Storyline

When an archaeology teacher unearthed an ancient Egyptian amulet, she learns that the item was a magic piece of great power. Researching the amulet's past, she decides to use that for its original purpose. Now whenever there is trouble, she dons the amulet and chants, "Oh Mighty Isis". Trivia

This was one of the few television superheroes not derived from a comic book. DC Comics published a short-lived comic book during the show's second season. Thirty years later, DC Comics acquired the rights to the character and created a new version who is the consort of Black Adam, the seemingly reformed supervillain nemesis of Captain Marvel. This character was killed off, but the magic amulet is being used by a new host. As a tribute to the alter-ego of the original television version of the character, the 2006-2007 comic book version was given the secret identity of Adrianna Tomaz. See more »

Goofs

Because of the frequent use of stock footage continuity errors would often be present. Perhaps the most noticeable example is completely different backgrounds before and after Andrea's transformation into Isis. Her first action after transforming was to take flight and a handful of stock takeoffs recur repeatedly throughout the series. See more »

Quotes

Isis: [Circumstance has forced Andrea to become Isis in front of Mason and Barnes; accordingly, after resolving the crisis at hand] ... Guide me, Osiris; Get behind me, Set; and that which my friends have just learned, let them now forget!
[the incantation works, saving her secret identity]
Rick Mason (Brian Cutler): ...Who can't be - can't be *who*?
Dr. Barnes (Albert Reed): I - I don't know. What - what were we talking about just now?
[Rick shrugs cluelessly]
Dr. Barnes (Albert Reed): Must not have been very important, then.
[Both shake their heads, laughing]

Alternate Versions

In syndication, the ending "morals tag" was removed from every episode. The original footage of these scenes is now lost, so when the series was released to DVD in 2007 the scenes could not be reinstated into the episodes; instead, second-generation copies of the scenes were included as a bonus feature. Joanna Cameron was the bombdiggity!!!!

Yeah, I remember this show. It was far out. the best part was when she took off those glasses and ran around fighting crime in that short little white costume number. I'm surprised this show isn't on DVD yet with Shazam!. Isis would definitely make a cool show today. It was a head of it's time.
