Sex & Nudity

  • 2 rape scenes. One shows the man as he approaches the woman and pulls her nightgown off (no nudity) and the second is a flashback of the same rape. Again, there is no nudity.
  • It is implied that a man rapes a woman. He is seen for a split second removing her nightgown, but there is no nudity and the scene cuts away before anything else happens. In a later flashback to this same scene, the rape takes place but again- no nudity.
  • A man approaches a door and listens to a man and a woman giggling and moaning implying they are having sex. The man then walks in and we see a woman holding her breasts, and nothing is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Dozens of men are murdered in various ways but there´s almost no blood.
  • A man is stabbed in the stomach but it's not shown.
  • A man is stabbed with a long knife. Not explicitly shown.The knife is seen sticking out of his back but no blood.
  • A man in a bedroom is shot multiple times in the chest with a rifle. His dead body rolls to his back and there is absolutely no blood or entrance wounds.
  • A man's wife and baby are shot. (Off Screen)
  • A man is shot in the head and the bullethole is shown in his forehead with blood trickling.
  • Another man is shot in the head and is shown to be an exit wound.The bullethole is shown in the forehead and the back of the head.
  • Two characters take a beating from a gang but no blood is shown.
  • A man is shot and killed and his dead body is shot a few more times (off screen)
  • Mild violence by today's standards, particularly given the length of the film, but still enough to justify its R rating.


Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Eastwood smokes for most of the movie. The main villian smokes marijuana cigarette in a few scenes.
  • Men regularly drink hard liquor at saloons.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Eastwood and Van Cleef are beaten by thugs, but not very graphically.Whilst the beating takes place,the main villain is laughing psychotically and his men start doing the same.
  • The main villain is portrayed to be mad, and some of his behaviour is disturbing as he takes pleasure in murder.
  • Flashbacks of a rape may disturb some viewers.
