Trivia

As of 2018, only one member of the original cast from the debut episode remains: William Roache, who has played Ken Barlow since December 1960. William Roache is the longest-serving actor in the history of television serials. The previous record-holder was Don Hastings, who played Bob Hughes on the American soap opera As the World Turns (1956), from October 1960, bettering Roache's achievement by two months. He lost his record when that series ended in September 2010. See more »

Goofs

In the episode, 22/11/2004, (where Dev's corner shops are blown up by Maya) Dev drives his Saab to the shop which is about to be blown up, he parks the car directly outside the shop. Also parked directly outside the shop is another car. As the shop blows up, the camera changes angle to show the blast and Dev's car has somehow disappeared, just leaving the other car in shot. Down the Rovers
24 September 2015 | by studioATSee all my reviews

Corrie really is the nations soap and is so ingrained in our minds that everyone probably has a favourite character, moment of line.

Yes, it's probably on too many days of the week and the plots at times verge of ridiculous but what I love about Corrie is that of all the soaps it maintains that balance between humour and drama and that is what makes it so endearing.

While Eastenders may win more awards I think Corrie is loved more by the public and that is why the characters remain in our hearts so long after they have left.

With another good live episode out of the way recently the only way for Corrie seems to be up.
