The first half of this episode, in which Walt celebrates four years on TV, is about how Sergei Prokofieff's composition "Peter and the Wolf", which he played for Walt, convinced him to make a cartoon short based on this piece. After that, the second half involves the real celebration, in which the Mouseketeers from "The Mickey Mouse Club" question Walt on his plans for future shows and convinces the startled studio chief to give a special preview. One of the projects planned is a never made live-action film called "Rainbow Road to Oz". Written by Anonymous

Disney Fourth Anniversary Show
30 June 2015 | by bejetlagfreeSee all my reviews

I have been trying to get this video for Lynn Ready who was a Mousekateer in 1957. He is 71 and remembers those days fondly and a bit sadly because of the way the business contracts were drawn up by Disney. The Mice never got residuals or anything for their personal appearances. They tried to get the courts help but since their parents signed for the minors the court said nothing could be done, what a shameful exploitive organization. P.S. To bad Disney didn't think enough of the Mousekateers and their contributions to Disney to feature them at the big 60th show, Lynn would have loved being invited, but no such luck. Since Disney was built on the talent of these kids you would think they would have shown their appreciation in some special way after all they, the remaining Mice, won't be around for another celebration.
