This is a hybrid of many other stories and nationalities but it still just about worth watching. Lisa Daniely in the title role, plays an aspiring singer who gets a chance to sing in the chorus of a London show produced by impresario "Fennimore Hunt" (Sid James) after her broadcaster boyfriend Hugh McDermott sets it all up. When the star of the show "Maggie Lennox" (Gabrielle Bruce) decides to get married and pulls out of the show "Lilli" is overheard singing at a party and is promptly bumped up the bill. Despite the scheming machinations of "Lennox" under the guise of her helper; she makes a hit of it - but perhaps at the sacrifice of her true love. This is typical post WWII feel-good fayre; career v love etc. Bruce is quite good as the schemer, but otherwise nothing too special here.
