White mission
22 March 2016 | by MegaSuperstarSee all my reviews

A missioner's story in Guinea directed by Juan de Orduña had to become an bigger than life drama where religion, treason, patriotism and family secrets, wisely mixed up, make an entertaining tale from an apparently boring story of a new missionary arriving in Guinea. Bad man Brisco (excellent Manuel Luna in one of his famous villain roles) confronts father Javier (Julio Peña), who firmly believes in human bondage and forgiveness. Although the story is old-fashioned, Orduña manages to keep the interest by adding a certain mystery and alternative sub-plots that include two natives falling in love (native boy -Minoa- is played by Spanish actor Jorge Mistral) and a business quarrel between Brisco and his rival Cesáreo Urgoiti (Juan Espantaleón).
